In the summer of 1996, Suginoya Beer brewing began after obtaining the first beer brewing license in Fukuoka Prefecture.
‘Beer crafted by brewers who make what they truly want to drink’
Our beer-making, rooted in the tradition of sake brewing, fully utilizes the expertise we’ve cultivated over the years. It features a rich, malty taste that highlights the full flavor of barley, often called the mother of beer. Crafted by our brewmaster, the first in Japan’s craft beer industry to obtain the Brewmaster VLB certification in Germany—the home of beer—each glass offers the true essence of Suginoya.
A mellow beer that pairs well with meat dishes, just like red wine. You can enjoy its deep flavor. This amber beer is our most popular beer.
We chose Germany as our training place, a country renowned for the Beer Purity Law, which has been in effect since 1516. This law restricts beer ingredients to barley, hops, and water. German beer, brewed with only these limited ingredients, relies on each brewery’s brew-master to deeply understand local ingredients and bring out their full potential in crafting exceptional beer.
At Suginoya Beer, we honor traditional brewing methods while constantly pushing the boundaries to explore new flavors and styles. Inspired by the rich natural beauty of the Itoshima Peninsula, we craft seasonal and limited-edition beers, including koji-based brews. With our sake-brewing heritage, we constantly innovate, asking what unique beers we can create that genuinely belong here.
With each brew, we pour our respect for the rich natural beauty of our homeland, the Itoshima Peninsula, and our passion for brewing. We hope you’ll taste the unique aromas and flavors of our ‘beer we’ve always wanted to drink’—a beer only we can craft.
